ChewProof Dog Beds

Welcome to ChewProof NZ, where we have finally solved the age old problem of dogs destroying their raised beds.

We have between us over 35 years in the Animal Control Industry, have done breed showing, obedience and agility, bred Dobermanns and co-ordinated Dobermann Rescue over the years.

The last 14 years have been owning and running Boarding Kennels, during this time we have been looking for a solution to the problem of our clients (and sometimes our own dogs!) chewing their beds.

Our clients have lots of outside time for exercise and enrichment, so boredom is not a factor, but sometimes you just get that dog. It is very often a young dog or a dog staying for the first time and they can wreck a raised bed overnight. Aside from the mess, the cost, the inconvenience and the land fill, if they swallow some of the bed, there is a chance of getting an obstruction which can, in extreme cases, be fatal.

After spending years trying to find a solution and hitting problems of getting beds to NZ and massive hikes in prices, we found ChewProof while we were in Australia in 2024.

We brought some beds to trial in our kennels and we absolutely love them! After talking to Kevin who started ChewProof because of his own dog Jasper’s destructive behaviour (A Beagle no less!), we floated the idea of bringing the beds to NZ to solve a problem that I know a lot of people have, whether it be with their own dogs or looking after other people’s.
