Terms & Conditions
We love caring for your dogs and want everyone to have a safe, positive experience. These Terms and Conditions set out how our boarding service works and what we each agree to when you make a booking with Te Amo Kennels Limited.
By making a booking, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.
1. Bookings, Fees and Payment
All prices are subject to change without notice. Boarding is charged for each day or part-day. For example, a dog dropped off on Friday and collected on Sunday will be charged for three days, regardless of the drop-off or pick-up times.
Payment is required in full before collection. Payment can be made by bank transfer prior to collection or by cash on collection. We do not have EFTPOS facilities and do not operate credit accounts.
Our bank details are:
Te Amo Kennels Limited
Account number: 38-9026-0716438-00
Please use your dog’s name and boarding dates as the payment reference.
Christmas and New Year bookings must be paid in full by 15 December. If payment is not received by that date, the booking may not be confirmed.
If you cancel or reduce your booking with less than 48 hours’ notice before drop-off, you will still be charged for the original dates booked. This is because we may have declined other bookings to hold space for your dog.
2. Drop-off and Pick-up Times
Drop-off and pick-up are available between 10:00am and 10:45am or 4:00pm and 4:45pm. Please let us know whether you will be arriving in the morning or afternoon.
For security reasons and to comply with Council regulations, our gates are locked outside these times and access will not be available.
We are closed for drop-offs and pick-ups on 25 and 26 December, 1 and 2 January, Easter Sunday, and the morning of 25 April (ANZAC Day).
3. Dog Eligibility and Disclosure
Owners must provide full and accurate information about their dog, including behaviour issues, aggression, medical conditions, allergies, injuries and any medication required.
We do not accept entire dogs or bitches over 12 months of age. We reserve the right to refuse boarding to any dog at our discretion, including where we believe boarding would not be safe or suitable.
Dogs from different households are not permitted to share kennels.
4. Vaccinations, Health and Parasite Control
All dogs must be fully vaccinated and up to date for:
- Parvo Virus, Distemper and Hepatitis (Vanguard 5) every two years
- Leptospirosis annually
- Canine cough annually
Vaccinations must not have been administered within 7 days of arrival. Proof of vaccination must be provided with your booking application. We reserve the right to refuse boarding if valid vaccination records are not supplied.
While we maintain high hygiene standards, you acknowledge that there is always a risk of dogs contracting illnesses such as kennel cough in any boarding environment. We accept no liability for this. Any veterinary treatment required will be at the owner’s cost.
We recommend dogs are up to date with flea and worm treatments. If treatment is required during your dog’s stay, we may administer it and pass the cost on to you.
5. Veterinary Care
If we believe veterinary advice or treatment is necessary, you authorise us to obtain treatment from a veterinarian of our choice. All veterinary costs are the responsibility of the owner, plus a $50 time and transport fee per vet visit.
We have facilities available to isolate sick or injured dogs if required.
6. Care, Exercise and Supervision
Dogs in our care are checked multiple times each day and are exercised at least once daily, in a manner appropriate to their individual needs.
We provide raised beds and bedding. Owners may bring their own items at their own risk. We do not accept responsibility for loss or damage to personal belongings, including bedding, collars or toys.
We use video surveillance in the main kennel block for monitoring and security.
7. Behaviour Management and Safety
For the safety of all dogs and staff, we may use reasonable management tools where necessary. This may include muzzles, head collars, bark control devices, separation enclosures or other safety equipment. Any such measures will be used humanely, proportionately and in compliance with the Animal Welfare Act 1999.
If a dog’s barking is excessive, or if we consider a dog to be dangerous or aggressive, we may contact the owner or their representative and require immediate collection. This is undertaken in fulfilment of duties owed to staff and other animals under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015.
8. Abandoned Dogs
If a dog is not collected within 72 hours of the agreed collection date and we have not been contacted by the owner or a nominated representative, the dog may be treated as abandoned. We may contact local authorities to discuss re-homing or other appropriate action.
9. Owner Responsibilities
It is the owner’s responsibility to ensure all contact details are current and that a secondary contact person is listed on the booking application.
Owners acknowledge that boarding environments differ from home environments and that temporary stress or minor injuries can occur. To the extent permitted by law, Te Amo Kennels Limited is not liable for loss, damage or costs outside our reasonable control.
10. Photos and Privacy
Photographs may be taken of dogs while boarding. These images remain the property of Te Amo Kennels Limited and may be used for advertising, social media or our website.
For privacy and safety reasons, visitors are not permitted to take photos or videos on our property.
11. Concerns and Disputes
If you have any concerns or complaints, we ask that you contact us directly and allow a reasonable opportunity for the matter to be reviewed and addressed in good faith before making any public statements.
Clients agree not to make false, misleading or defamatory statements about the business, its staff or its services. Te Amo Kennels Limited reserves all rights in relation to demonstrably untrue or damaging statements.
